The Handsome Half-Zip

You’ve decided to walk the Camino Santiago in its entirety, a trail of 500 miles across France to Santiago, Spain. The Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage rooted in medieval origins. It leads to the tomb believed to be that of the apostle, Saint James the Greater, in the crypt of Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.  It meanders through wonderful small European villages and towns where bodegas, food and wine are plentiful, flavors beyond your palette and at prices that your wallet will love. You’ve chosen late September for the cooler weather and less crowded atmosphere.  By mile 250 you are within 3 miles of Pamplona, Spain, your resting place for the night.  It has turned chilly, and from your backpack you pull out your new Handsome Half Zip, an artistic masterpiece of horizontal and vertical lines of warmth.   Entering the town, a beautiful young lady sits at an outdoor café.  She is admiring you and your eyes connect.  As you come towards her, she whispers, “Hola, guapo!”  (Hey handsome in Spanish) and toasts you with her glass of wine.  You reply “Si, Senorita”.   Guess it’s time for a late afternoon sangria.
