Watch Hill in sits at the most southwestern point of Rhode Island on a stubby peninsula jutting into Block Island Sound. Watch Hill was historically home to "a select group of wealthy families" whose lives revolved around "golf and tennis at the Misquamicut Club, bathing and yachting at the Watch Hill Yacht Club, and tea and cocktails at the Ocean House and Watch Hill's other grand hotels." The Ocean House is a remarkable old Grand Dame recently restored to all its glory. Sitting up on a bluff, its wrap around porch serves lunch and dinner to those chosen few. The lifestyle is merry, the dress code is casual beach wear (preppy of course), and the views are simply to die for. Our new eco-friendly Hemp-Cotton blend Watch Hill Hoody and Drawstring Pants are on the fashion menu, so grab a set and saunter down to the Ocean House to take in the scene. It won’t disappoint.

I just wore these pants for over 100 miles in European cities in 65-75 degree weather. They were excellent for me for this purpose and I will likely buy a pair of the surfside pants. The 32" waist seemed to fit true to size. I had the length tailored so I can't speak to that aspect of the measurements. The security pocket was perfect for my wallet I wish there were two of them. It's nice to know stuff can't fall out of your pocket and it probably provides some degree of protection against pickpockets.I did have a minor quibble with them - one was the clasp closure instead of a button. The clasp is a little finicky and unlike a button I don't know how to fix it if it breaks. There are draw strings but I pretty much tucked them away.Pleased with my purchase. I stayed cool didn't get sunburned and didn't feel out of place in a restaurant or museum.

An update of the previous review. I've now worn these pants on a couple of more routes of the Camino de Santiago including a brutally hot Camino Mozarabe in Sept/Oct and a much nicer (but still hot) Via de la Plata in March. While nothing will keep you cool in those conditions these work to keep the sun off from your skin while letting the air flow through. The breathability of these pants was just outstanding. And after an additional 500 miles they still look great. Please please please make these with a longer inseam.

I just returned from walking with these on a version of the Camino de Santiago in Spain (June 2021). I took these for hot/dry days (Eco-mesh for rainy weather). They worked great. Quite breathable. When the wind blew it blew right though to cool me down. After walking in them for at least 150 miles they still look great. The only reason they do not get 5 stars is because they are really too short for me. I need at least a 34" inseam. But/for that I would order a few more pairs.
